Earth Hour 2...

I went out and took some pictures of the Liverpool Waterfront, as seen from Seacombe Ferry...

Before:

During:

See the difference?

Nope. Neither can I. There were a few people down there having a look, but hopes of a mass switchoff didn't attract the crowds the way a big firework display does.

Shame really. The waterfront is a big lit symbol, and if a significant number of lights had gone out, it would have been impressive. Places like the Echo Arena were lit up outside, when they could have joined in easily.

Ah well. Maybe next year, hey?

Also went down to New Brighton Promenade. There's a bit there without streetlights. I took a photo of the tower blocks known as "The Cliffs" during and after the hour.

Here they are...

During:

After:

Nothing. Not even a smidgen of difference. There was a house with just the telly lighting up the room, but I don't know if they always do that, or whether they were watching telly in the dark to help save the planet.
